Helping to reduce the risk of a fall

Muscle weakness and poor balance are associated with an increased risk of falls and a decline in the ability to carry out basic daily tasks.

Maintaining muscle strength and balance in later life is therefore very important and I am dedicated to helping older people improve their physical fitness and enjoy a more active and independent life for as long as possible.

As an Otago Exercise Programme Leader, I am working with Age UK Somerset running 'Stay Strong, Stay Steady' sessions in Oakhill & Wells, Somerset.

These sessions are clinically proven to reduce the risk of falls and consist of specific exercises that improve strength and balance.
