Benefits of Dance

Dance is a fun way to improve your health and wellbeing, whatever your age, experience or ability.

It can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities and can be performed seated, standing and with support.

 

Dance helps to improve cardio and respiratory health and also improves strength, balance and flexibility, using muscles we never thought we had!

Dance also enhances our mood, boosts our memory and cognitive performance and improves concentration. It improves our emotional and mental health reducing stress, decreasing the symptoms of anxiety and depression, and boosting our self-esteem. 

Anyone can take part in dance and the physical and psychological benefits can be experienced by anyone. It can be enjoyed as a group activity and dancing with others is good for social and emotional well-being.
